Shanmatha Vaibhavam

Shanmatha Vaibhavam thematic concert is a concept to celebrate Adi Shankara Bagavatpadal as Shanmatha Sthapakar - bringing the Six Sects - Saivam, Vaishnavam, Saktham, Ganapathyam, Souram, Kowmaram - under one umbrella Shanmatham

This sloka describes the concept of Shanmatha Vaibhavam. This Sloka is from Puranasaram of Pujyasri Vidyaranya Swamigal.

The thematic concert can be presented as a program by Individuals or as Group Singing or as Upanyasams. The thematic concert is planned on Anusham days and other auspicious occasions.

Each of the Six deities has two songs dedicated to them, concluding with the Mangalam. The songs are chosen such that they represent the particular deity in general and not any particular kshetram. The list of songs are chosen from the compositions of two pre-trinity vagayakaraas - Purnadardasar and Oothukadu Venkata Kavi, and the three Trinity composers, Thyagarja, Muthu Swami Dikshitar and Shyama Sastry. The list consists of Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada compositions. Some songs are simple and popular for group singing. The song Govinda gives scope for sing along by rasika. Govinda Namam chanting, as extoled by Adhishankara in Baja govindam. Other kritis give scope for Manodharma Sangeetham.
